WHAT IS A JAPANESE LIVE MUSIC EXPERIENCE?
This is not a tourist show.
This is curated access to an underground Japanese live show, hosted by Cicada Live, a Japan-based international touring agency that books and produces tours across the country.
Japanese live houses are incredible spaces, but they can be difficult to navigate if you do not speak the language or understand the culture. This experience removes that barrier and gives you direct access with context.
You attend as part of a small, guided cohort.

Do I need to speak Japanese?
No. This experience is designed for English-speaking guests. We provide context and introductions so you can enjoy the night without language stress.
What kind of music will the show feature?
Each edition is curated around Japan’s underground scene. The exact lineup will be confirmed closer to the date, but expect authentic live house culture rather than mainstream commercial acts.
Is this a private show?
No. You will attend a real Japanese live house event alongside local audiences. This is not staged for tourists.
Will I meet the bands?
When appropriate, we arrange brief introductions to venue staff or performers. This depends on the night’s schedule and artist availability, but access is facilitated through existing relationships.
Is transport included?
No. Guests are responsible for their own transport to and from the meeting point. Detailed directions will be provided after booking.
What if I am travelling alone?
Many guests attend solo. Group size is intentionally small (maximum 8), which makes it easy to connect with others.
What if the minimum number of guests is not reached?
If the minimum participant threshold is not met, the event will not run and a full refund will be issued.
Can I get a refund if my plans change?
Refunds are available up to 30 days before the event. After that, tickets are non-refundable due to venue commitments.
How long does the experience last?
Approximately 4 hours, including the pre-show briefing and the live performance.
Is this suitable if I have never been to a Japanese live house before?
Yes. In fact, that is exactly who this is for. We provide cultural context and guidance so you understand how the system works and feel comfortable throughout the night.
